PaddleStrong (Intermediate Mixed)

Description

PaddleStrong is Dragon Boat Barrie’s most competitive team, traveling to regattas all over the province and training year round.  PaddleStrong is a group of paddlers from the Barrie area who are interested in dragon boat racing multiple times per Summer and being challenged by experienced coaches.  PaddleStrong is a cohesive team of 20+ paddlers who value fitness in and out of the boat.

PaddleStrong was formed in 2009 in support of our dear coach and friends Bruce Saunders and Team Captain Tracy Latimer, who both have sadly passed away.  We paddle in their honour! Paddles Up!

Skill Level: Intermediate

Practices:

One day per week, for one hour on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30pm in the summer starting June 3rd and ending August 26th (no practice July 1st).

Festivals:

• Hamilton Waterfest – Saturday July 4th
• Barrie – Heritage Park, Barrie – Saturday August 15th (Note: team must fund-raise a minimum $500 for a charity of their choice)
• GWN Dragon Boat Challenge – Marilyn Bell Park, Toronto – Saturday September 12th and Sunday September 13th (attendance is required both days)

2026 season fees are $400. Fees are due May 1st.
