Happy first snow fall paddlers!

This could be a sign our 2013 paddling season has officially ended….OR a sign that its time to start preparing for 2014!  Please keep reading for more information about Winter Training options and please continue to support our Club through voting on the Aviva Community Fund website http://www.avivacommunityfund.org/ideas/acf17155.  Every vote counts and you are allowed to vote daily.  Which means every day if you put aside just 5 minutes to click to vote, we may have our own boat to train in for Summer 2014!

Winter Training at the Barrie Rowing Club 

Below are details of the next series of indoor classes/sessions at the Barrie Rowing Club. Contact them directly if you would like to sign up for any classes

There is no cost for full members of the rowing club.  Sessions are 6 weeks.Cost for one series is $60.If you participated in the September-October series, the cost is $40/series. Anyone signing up for either the Monday or Thursday series may also attend the Saturday open session at no extra cost. Payment can be made by cheque or cash at the first session.

The Barrie Rowing Club is happy to offer the following indoor sessions:

Monday evenings 6:30 to 7:30 pm, starting November 11 until December 16. Indoor rowing and piloga (a combination of yoga and Pilates), instructor-led.

Thursday evenings 6:30 to 7:30 pm, starting November 7 until December 12. A combination of erg workouts and weight training for the serious athlete, instructor-led.
Saturday mornings 8:00 to 9:00 am, starting November 9 until December 14. Open session with posted work-outs.

Goals for each class are flexible and may be modified to accommodate individuals. All participants are encouraged to work at their own level.  Sign up at

 

Weight Training – small group classes

Alexacise –  With over 15 years of experience, Alexacise doesn’t just assess your goals but your entire physique needs to customize your training. Proper programming requires continuous attention to an individual’s biofeedback to assess the body’s success or lack of to specific training regimes. Whether you want one-on-one training or training in a group environment, Alexacise will exercise you based on your body’s needs and physical condition. The Alexacise Studio is a fully equipped gym environment with the addition of TRX Suspension training, battle-ropes, weighted vests just to name a few of the specialized equipment you won’t always see in your typical membership gym.

Alexa offers small group classes Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturdays.  She has offered to have a class JUST for our Club on Thursday evenings 7:45-8:45pm.  Cost is $180 for 8 weeks if we have enough interest.  Otherwise her group training on other days is $25/class or $225 for a 10 pack.  Alexa has paddled in the past and trains some of our paddlers already which has expanded her knowledge of the muscles we love to use on the water and the need to even out uneven bodies.  For more information contact Alexa at 705-795-3488 or .  If you would like to sign up for the DBB Thursday class please register by replying to this email.  There are also November specials at this website http://alexacise.com/beautilicious/
